The Class DL1000 shunters were the backbone of the “workforce” for manoeuvring railroad cars at many stations in the past. In Taiwan, this type of vehicle was mainly built by Japan's Kyosan Kogyo Corporation or Taiwan’s Pacific Heavy Machinery Corporation, and most of them belonged to the 10t standard class without coupling rods.
At one time, the DL-1024 shunted at the Kaohsiung Inspection and Repair Shop. After the Shop was relocated to Chaozhou, it was temporarily stored in the Kaohsiung Railway Workshop. The other shunter class, DL-1042, once operated at the Chenggong Station.
