Imported from Japan in 1939, the 25C10000 Multi-purpose Baggage Railcar features windows on the sides and sliding doors with connecting doors at both ends, allowing it to serve multiple tasks such as carrying passengers and cargo. During WWII, they were important vehicles for transporting injured soldiers and supplies.
They also served as “engineering service cars” and “mobile exhibition” express—notably for the Anti-communism and Anti-Russia political campaign tours in the 1950s. Nowadays they have been adapted for shipping baggage and parcels.
